The Chinese Consul General in Kolkata Ma Zhanwu on Friday said that Sino-India ties continue to develop with joint efforts.

"Doklam is behind us. Enough has been said about Doklam. In the new era, I believe, China-India relations will continue to develop with joint efforts," Ma said, while speaking to media in Kolkata.

"I also believe that in the coming months and week, there is going to be goodwill relations between China and India. We will make all possibilities and developments to do it," he said.

Earlier, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had asserted that there are no new developments at Doklam and its vicinity and that reports to the contrary were incorrect.

Addressing the weekly press briefing, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that it is important to have an accurate understanding of the situation and not to paint an alarmist picture.

The Indian Army and the China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) had, on August 28, decided to disengage their troops from Bhutan's Doklam plateau after months-long stand-off.

Tensions rose between the two countries when China began constructing a road in the plateau at Sikkim-Bhutan-Tibet tri-junction.
