Kazakh envoy makes farewell call on Vice President Ansari

Kazakhstan's Ambassador to India Doulat Kuanyshev called on Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Thursday to inform him that he was completing his diplomatic assignment in India.

Both Vice President Ansari and Ambassador Kuanyshev noted the ongoing dynamics of the bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and India in all directions.

Both agreed that the potential for furher development of bilateral trade and economic relations had not been implemented in full, and added that further growth was possible.

In this regard, Ambassador Kuanyshev paid attention to the upcoming opening of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway this November, which he said could give a new impetus to bilateral trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and India.

 

Vice President Ansari congratulated Ambassador Kuanyshev on his new appointment as his country's Ambassador to Israel and wished him further success.

Kazakhstan supports India's aspirations to become a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), while India has supported Kazakhstan's candidacy for membership of the U N Security Council in 2017-2018.

Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and India more than doubled, in particular, for the six months of this year, it exceeded the figure for the entire last year - 750 million dollars.
