United States Secretary of State John Kerry has remarked that any Iranian action against the Islamic State (IS) would be "positive."
However, he did not confirm claims made by the Pentagon that said Iran was targeting the IS in Iraq separately, reported the BBC.
Iran is not a member of the U.S.-led coalition and denies any cooperation in the campaign.
Kerry's comments came after the coalition's first high-level meeting in Brussels.
A U.S. defense official had earlier said that the nation is aware of Iranian bombing activity in the same national airspace where the coalition planes are operating against the terror group.
