Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas on Monday filed a petition in the Supreme Court, requesting it to take cognisance of the Vyapam scam.
"We have filed a petition with the Supreme Court as the High Court of Madhya Pradesh has already taken a cognizance of this matter and the SIT of the Madhya Pradesh government is taking care of the Vyapam probe. But after all the initiatives of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, 45 deaths have already been occurred. So we requested the SC to take a cognizance in view emergency of matter," he told the media here.
The Vyapam scam involved the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board which holds the exams for positions like medical officers, constables, teachers and auditors for government departments.
The candidates allegedly bribed government officials to make it to the list of those who cleared the test.
Since it came to light, a large number of people associated with the scam have died mysterious deaths, leading to the families of the victims and the opposition suspecting foul play.
