Lewis Hamilton has thanked his Twitter fans for extending their support during his split with longtime love Nicole Scherzinger.
The 30-year-old Formula One, broke his silence about the split for the first time, and took to Twitter writing, "Hi everyone. I want to thank you all for the love and support during this tough time. It means the world to me. #TeamLH #bestfansintheworld," the Daily Express reported.
Hamilton was spotted at the airport, returning from London after having the "last ditch talks" with the 36-year-old singer, and looked really down even though he tried to hide his face behind a pair of designer glasses.
Meanwhile, Scherzinger had said that though it was one of the hardest decisions, it was mutual, but she still loves Lewis very much.
The pair had been in an on-off relationship since in 2007, and as per a source it was for real this time as this Scherzinger was convinced that Hamilton had no plans for marriage.
