Liam Neeson's 'Taken 3' has topped the weekend box- office by cashing-in 40.4 million dollars on ts debut, it has been revealed.
Acording to the Hollywood Reporter, the action-thriller that has been released in 3,594 theaters in North America, has earned another 41 million dollars overseas from 36 markets for an early foreign total of 52.3 million dollars and worldwide haul of 92.7 million dollars.
Fox distribution Chief Chris Aronson said that this shows the enduring popularity of the character that Neeson has created.
Ava DuVernay's 'Selma' secured the second position with 11.2 million dollars earning from 2,157 locations for an early total of 13.5 million dollars.
'Into the Woods' is ranked at the third spot with 9.8 million dollars from 2,823 theaters, pushing its domestic total to 105.3 million dollars million.
