Madras High Court recalls contentious order on rape

The Madras High Court has recalled a contentious order which directed mediation between a rapist and his victim.

The court also cancelled the convict's interim bail and asked him to surrender on July 13.

The high court had sparked outraged last month by granting bail to a rape convict and asking the victim and offender to try out a 'compromise' by mediation.
