As Cesc Fabregas worries about his Nou Camp future while waiting for assurances, Manchester United's hopes of landing the midfielder have dramatically improved, as he has even told friends that he would welcome a move to Old Trafford if prospects under new boss Gerardo Martino do not improve.

According to The Sun, United have already made two approaches for Fabregas after making an initial 26 million pound offer and a club-record 31 million pound bid.

The report said that although both were rejected, United boss David Moyes, who has made no secret of his desire to land the former Arsenal ace, expressed yesterday that the move to sign him was 'ongoing'.

United are determined to continue their pursuit, especially as they are aware Fabregas is open to the switch and will go as far as 35 million pounds, the report added.
