An artist from Manchester has turned a carpet into a portrait of Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray, by staining it with commonly spilled items such as wine and coffee.

According to TennisWorldUSA.org, Ed Chapman, 42 spent 300 hours on the painting using products including a jar of coffee, wine; nail varnish, lipstick, turmeric and three shovel full of soot.

He said that when he was asked to stain and ruin a perfectly good carpet to create a piece of art, it was too interesting a challenge to refuse.

Murray has recently had a back surgery, which could keep him out of action for even the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
