Mark Wahlberg's victim has opened about the attack back in 1988, and said that though the actor did hurt him, he didn't blind him.
Wahlberg, 43, who's known for his chequered past, had been sentenced to 2 years in a correctional institution when he was 16, for attempted murder on a Vietnamese man, who was racially abused and badly attacked, resulting into loss of sight in one eye, the Stuff.co.nz reported.
However, now the man named Hoa Trinh, 59, has clarified that the actor wasn't responsible for blinding his left eye, as it was already gone.
The news comes after the Wahlberg's request to grant him a pardon for the assault conviction.
Trinh also said that he didn't know Wahlberg was now a Hollywood star, and added that he would like the star to be granted a pardon, as he was young and reckless when the incident took place, and everyone deserved a second chance.
Trinh said he forgives the actor, feels that the 45 days Wahlberg spent in prison was sufficient enough, and has requested a pardon from the Massachusetts Parole Board as he wants to become a Los Angeles Police Department reserve officer.
