The Rolling Stones' lead vocalist Sir Mick Jagger has reportedly denied that he was Brazil's World Cup jinx after media and fans blamed him for the team's humiliating loss to Germany in the semifinal.

Jagger was reportedly branded as a bad luck charm by the Brazilian press and fans after he was spotted in the stands in Belo Horizonte during Brazil's 7-1 thrashing by Germany.

However, Jagger has refused to take the blame for the host's World Cup defeat, saying that he can take responsibility for the first German goal but not the other six, The Mirror reported.

The Rolling Stones frontman has reportedly been dubbed as 'pe frio', which means 'cold foot' and describes the bad luck he supposedly brings with himself.

The joke around Jagger has reportedly grown since the singer backed his home country with a 'Let's go England' tweet just before they were beaten by Uruguay, followed by incorrect predictions that Portugal and then Italy would win their matches.

Luciana Gimenez, the rocker's former lover and mother of his son Lucas posted a message on Instagram yesterday appearing to defend Jagger from 'bullying' online, the report added.
