Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj on Sunday gifted Prime Minister Narendra Modi a traditional Mongolian musical instrument called 'morin khuur'.
Prime Minister Modi also tried his hand at the instrument, which is considered a symbol of Mongolia.
"The Morin Khuur, Music and Mongolia...a unique gift from President @elbegdorj," he said on Twitter.
"Striking a new chord in the relationship with Mongolia. @narendramodi tries 2 understand intricacies of morin khuur," added MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup on twitter.
Prime Minister Modi had earlier presented President Elbegdorj a specially commissioned reproduction of a rare 13th century manuscript on the history of Mongols from the Rampur Raza Library.
Prime Minister Modi is the first Indian prime minister to visit Mongolia.
He will depart for Seoul for the final leg of his three-nation tour on Monday morning.
