The Monsoon Session of the Punjab Assembly is beginning on Thursday.

This is likely to be the last session of the present Assembly, as the state is heading for assembly polls early next year.

Both the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have summoned legislature party meetings today immediately after the obituary references.

The assembly will ratify the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill.

During the session, four sittings will take place before being adjourned sine die on September 14.
