Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reiterated his government's desire to hold peace talks with the Taliban to put an end to the years-long bloodshed in the country.

During his visit to Balochistan, Nawaz appealed to the estranged segments among the Baloch population to join the mainstream, surrender arms and abandon their terrorist activities for the betterment of Pakistan's economy, the Daily Times reports.

He stressed that the estranged Balochis are their brothers and they harbour no sentiment of revenge against them.

He also said that Balochis should abandon hostility as it serves no purpose.
