The South American Football Confederation will review the case on Friday, after which the Barcelona star could face a harsher punishment.

Neymar was shown a red card after kicking a ball at Colombia's Pablo Armero in frustration after the final whistle before appearing to head butt another player who confronted him.

In the scenes of chaos after the match, Columbia's Carlos Bacca was also sent off for a disciplinary heave.
