Selfies has really caught up with celebs as trend, but now they won't be able to click away an Cannes film festival red carpet, as the bosses have put on the act.
Speaking at the launch of this year's festival, director Theirry Fremaux said that they were staring a campaign to reduce the practice of selfies on the red carpet calling it extremely "ridiculous and grotesque," Grazia magazine reported.
He added that the aim was to avoid slowing down of people getting across the carpet, as they had a certain time limit, and taking selfies really slowed down the process.
However, Fremaux said that there won't be "police" on patrol for it, and it would just stand as a rule.
Festival president, Pierre Lescure backed the decision saying that people actually looked really "ugly" selfies.
