A new shocking survey has revealed that about 62 million women in the EU are victims of domestic violence and have experienced either physical or sexual violence since the age of 15.

According to the survey conducted by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, one in 10 women have experienced some form of sexual violence since the age of 15, and one in 20 have been raped, the BBC reported.

The survey also found that about 18 percent of women had been victims of stalking since the age of 15, and 55 percent were victims of sexual harassment, often in the workplace.

It has revealed that 22 percent of the respondents had suffered from physical or sexual violence by a partner, and 67 percent did not report the most serious incidents of domestic violence to the police.

Morten Kjaerum, director of the Agency for Fundamental Rights said that young women as a group "are particularly vulnerable to victimization and violence against women is an extensive human rights abuse in all EU member states.
