The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has declared that they are ready to negotiate with the Pakistan government, a day after it had called off negotiations.

Senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi told reporters here that his party was ready to re-engage in negotiations with the Nawaz Sharif-run government, shortly after reports emerged that PTI lawmakers had resigned from the Pakistan national assembly.

Meanwhile, all 34 PTI members of the national assembly, including party chief Imran Khan, resigned from the assembly, except for the the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, a province where the PTI forms the government. The PTI was the third largest party in the assembly.

Meanwhile, according to reports, Imran Khan called for fresh elections and for the formation of a caretaker government to implement electoral reforms. He was quoted saying that the Pakistan Supreme Court could order the formation of such a caretaker government, rather than the military.
