R andB legend Ben E King, who is known for his hit single 'Stand by Me', has passed away at the age of 76.
The reason for the American soul singer has not been revealed yet, however, the news of his death was announced by singer's publicist Phil Brown, the BBC reported.
Fellow musician Gary US Bonds posted on Facebook that King was one of the sweetest, gentlest and gifted souls that he had had the privilege of knowing and calling his friend for more than 50 years.
King started his career in the late 1950s with the Drifters, singing hits including 'There Goes My Baby' and 'Save the Last Dance for Me'.
