ANI Ahmedabad (Gujarat)

The 86 Indian fishermen, who were released by Pakistan on March 20, reached the coastal town of Veraval in Gujarat yesterday.

The fishermen were arrested by Pakistani authorities for allegedly trespassing into territorial waters.

They were released from a Karachi jail on Sunday, and crossed over to India through the Wagah border. The majority of fishermen belonged to Gujarat, while a few others were from Maharashtra and West Bengal.

This was the second batch of Indian fishermen released this month. Pakistan had on March 6 released 86 fishermen and a civilian prisoner.
