Samsung has taken the lead in the smartphone market in India in the last quarter with a 22 percent share while the global rival Apple has not even made it to top five.
According to PCWorld, Samsung is facing a tiff competition from Indian players like Micromaxthat holds an 18 percent share in the Indian market in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Samsung also faces a strong competition from Xiaomi that exclusively sold its phones online.
However, the rankings are not clear according to research firm Canalys that said last month that Micromax had already overtaken Smasung.
