SC asks Somnath Bharti to surrender to Delhi Police today

The Supreme Court on Monday ordered AAP MLA Somnath Bharti, to surrender before the Delhi police today failing which, they warned that they won't hear his plea for bail on October 1.

"The SC has asked Somnath Bharti to surrender by today evening. Then the court will consider on Thursday whether a reconciliation is possible or not," Vijay Aggarwal, Bharti's lawyer, told media here.

"Somnath has been asked to surrender. I will inform my client as soon as I establish contact with him," he added.

Bharti had moved the apex court seeking protection from arrest in the case and a direction to restrain the Delhi Police from arresting him till his plea challenging the high court order is decided.
