Search zone for missing AirAsia flight QZ8501 expanded on third day

The search for the missing AirAsia flight QZ8501 has expanded to cover land and sea on the third say of the hunt and experts are investigating reports of smoke on an island in East Bilutung.

According to BBC, U.S., France, Australia and countries around the region have joined the search over the Java sea.

The search for the missing flight was immediately launched with vessels and aircraft from Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia but nothing was reported to be found before nightfall.

Yesterday, an Australian plane had found a suspicious object in the Java sea during the search for the missing aircraft.

AirAsia plane QZ8501, flying from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore with 162 people on board, lost contact with air traffic control on Sunday.
