Shopian attack: Terrorist, accomplices killed in retaliatory firing

One terrorist and three of his accomplices/ over ground worker (OGWs) were killed after security forces resorted to retaliatory firing against an attack on a joint motor vehicle patrolling party on Sunday.

As per the Army sources, a joint Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) near Pohan area of Shopian was fired upon by some terrorists at 8:00 p.m. from a vehicle.

In retaliatory firing, one terrorist, identified as Shahid Ahmad Dar, was killed and found in possession of a weapon. Also, the three OGWs/ accomplices in the car who were accompanying the terrorist were found dead.

The Police have reached the spot and begun legal formalities.
