Shops charred by fire in Jalandhar

Several shops in a market were damaged by a fire in Jalandhar late on Thursday night.

Shops of leather goods, footwear and dress material were charred.

No loss of life was reported as the market was closed for Diwali.

Officials are yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.
