Sindh Governor resigns

The governor of Pakistan's Sindh province, Ishrat-ul-Ebad, has resigned in protest over what he has reportedly termed as an unwarranted operation by security forces in Karachi.
Ebad, who is affiliated to the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), has also claimed that nearly 100 party activists have been arrested.
Though, there is no official word on Ebad's resignation, sources at the governor house said Ebad has faxed his resignation to the Presidency, probably before leaving for Dubai late Friday.
He is expected to proceed to London to meet MQM chief Altaf Hussain, Paskistani media reports said.
Ebad has served as the governor of Sindh for 11 years.
