SP govt to change UPTU's name to APJ Kalam University

The Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) Government on Tuesday decided to change the name of Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) to APJ Kalam University.

"The Cabinet has taken several important decisions today. One of the decisions is to change the name of UPTU to APJ Kalam University," Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav told media persons.

Former President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, 83, passed away in Shillong last week after suffering a massive cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture to students at the Indian Institute of Management.
