Former Australian cricket great Steve Waugh has warned the current squad of being wary of the excessive talent they have in the team as he insists that they could be their own biggest enemy in big matches in the World Cup.

The World Cup winning captain met the current crop of Australian squad ahead of Friday's quarterfinal against Pakistan and warned them to be wary of the double-edged sword that is talent.

Waugh, who led his fair share of star-studded teams including the one that peaked to produce the perfect game against Pakistan in the 1999 Cup final at Lord's, said that Australia can definitely go all the way to World Cup glory, adding that they have got all bases covered, News.com.au reported.

However, he warned that their only danger is if that they've got so much talent that one can sometimes leave it up to the next person. He claimed that he knows they've talked about that and covered off, insisting that that's the only danger for Australia if they just switch off and leave it for someone else to do the job.

Australian coach Darren Lehmann has called in former greats all through the campaign, including Geoff Marsh and Ian Healy to motivate the current squad, the report added.
