Pakistan's suspended off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has ruled himself out of the upcoming World Cup on account of his decision to not undergo official testing of his suspect bowling action.
Ajmal was suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) from bowling in September.
Shaharyar Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, said that Ajmal had withdrawn himself out of the World Cup.
Khan further said that they were aware that if he took the official ICC test in a bid to make the World Cup squad and failed it he could be suspended from playing for one to two years and that would mean the end of his career, the BBC reported.
Meanwhile, Banned Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez will undergo checks before potentially applying to the ICC for an official test on his bowling action.
