Syrian snipers 'shooting pregnant women to win cigarettes'

ANI  |  London

Fighters in Syria are shooting pregnant women to kill their unborn babies and are then awarded cigarettes if they 'hit the correct targets', a British surgeon has claimed.

Dr David Nott, who has been volunteering in Syria, described the deliberate attempts by militants working for the Assad regime to hurt women as 'hell beyond hell'.

According to Metro News, the snipers would target expectant mothers who support rebel forces.

X-ray images released by the Syria Relief charity appear to show a fully-grown foetus with a bullet lodged in its brain.

Dr Nott, a vascular specialist at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, said that women were all shot through the uterus.
