Tirupati-based man arrested for creating paedophile Facebook page

The cyber cell of the Tamil Nadu Police Crime Branch Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) has arrested a 27-year-old man from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh for creating a Facebook page for paedophiles.

According to reports, the accused was the administrator of several Facebook pages which had been updated with obscene content.

The police have reportedly booked him under the Information Technology Act and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offence) Act. They have also seized his mobile phones and laptops, through which he updated the Facebook pages. Further details are awaited.
