One person was killed after seven coaches of the Muri Express derailed near Sirathu in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
Railway CRPO, Vijay Kumar, said that the Indian Railway is totally prepared for relief and rescue, adding that medical and relief train have left for the accident site.
"An unfortunate incident has taken place between Sirathu and Atsarai station, where some coaches of Muri Express have derailed. According to preliminary investigation, around eight coaches have derailed. We don't have authentic information about the injuries.
The railway organisation is totally prepared for relief and rescue.
The GRM of Allahabad division and General Manager of North Central Railway have left with their officers for the accident site.
Medical train and relief train have left for the accident site. The NDRF has been alerted and we have set up helpline numbers. The death toll has not confirmed yet," Kumar told the media here.
