Tripura celebrates International Nurses Day

Tripura Health and Family Welfare Minister Badal Choudhury distributed prizes to healthcare professionals on the occasion of International Nurses Day (IND), which honours the contribution made by nurses to society.

The theme of the event, which was organized by Tripura Nursing Council, was 'Nurses: A Force for Change: Care Effective, Cost Effective'.

Choudhury described nursing as a noble profession that cannot be compared with any other profession.

Nurses Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing.
