Tumblr faces outage for several hours

Yahoo-owned blogging network, Tumblr, reportedly experienced extended outage due to what the company called 'intermittent errors'.

Yahoo acknowledged that Tumblr experienced errors affecting the entire blogging network for more than three hours.

According to Cnet, the company first alerted its users on Twitter and the 'intermittent errors' took several hours to fix.

A Tumblr spokesperson said that there was a compatibility issue during an upgrade, adding that the issue had been resolved.

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer recently acquired the blogging network, host to 166 million blog sites, for an eye-popping 1.1 billion dollars as part of her brand rebuilding.
