UK election 2019: First official results put Conservatives in lead

The Conservative Party has gained a marginal lead over Labour in the UK general elections, local media reported on Friday, citing poll officials, as the exit polls have shown a landslide victory for Boris Johnson's party.
A victory for Johnson and the Conservatives would mean that they will plough ahead with the Brexit, dashing all chances of a second referendum over the issue.
The exit poll had suggested the Conservatives would win 368 seats in the 650-seat parliament, with the main opposition Labour party trailing on 191, as per a report by the Washington Post.
The party needs 322 seats to control Parliament -- and push through Johnson's Brexit plan, The Washington Post reported.
This was Britain's third general election in a little more than four years, and the second since the June 2016 Brexit referendum.
