On All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi's decision to contest the polls, Raut said, "If the poison of Owaisi spreads in this country then only more countries like Pakistan will be formed. The Shiv Sena has the strength to fight against such Owaisi."

The term of the 243-member Bihar assembly comes to an end on November 29. Polls in the state will begin on October 12 and end on November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8.
