Bharat Electronics lost 0.68% to Rs 1014.90 at 15:19 IST on BSE after a block deal of 50,000 shares was executed in the counter on BSE at Rs 1,015 per share at 14:52 IST.
The block deal constitutes 0.06% of Bharat Electronics' equity.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 25.88 points or 0.12% at 20,862.45.
On BSE, so far 51,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 5,889 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock was volatile. The stock lost as much as 1.01% at the day's low of Rs 1,011.50 so far during the day. The stock rose as much as 1.27% at the day's high of Rs 1,034.90 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,375 on 10 June 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 990 on 23 December 2013.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 2 January 2014, declining 2.92% compared with the Sensex's 0.05% fall. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 6.29% as against Sensex's 7.03% rise.
The mid-cap company has equity capital of Rs 80 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
Bharat Electronics' net profit fell 25.9% to Rs 59.45 crore on 2.9% decline in net sales to Rs 1009.32 crore in Q2 September 2013 over Q2 September 2012.
