China: Market closes 1.2% stronger

The Mainland China equity market closed session slight higher on Friday, 18 May 2018, amid optimism of a breakthrough in US-China trade negotiations even as talks entered a second day in Washington. The blue-chip CSI300 index ended 1% higher at 3,903.06, while the Shanghai Composite Index closed 1.2% higher to 3,193.30 points. The Shenzhen Composite Index increased 0.3 per cent to 1,828.78, and the Nasdaq-style ChiNext Price Index added 0.3 per cent to 1,836.75. For the week, SSEC rose nearly 1%, while CSI300 was up 0.8%.
