Foreign portfolio investors bought a total of Rs 12122 crore of stocks in January compared to a purchase of Rs 7339 crore in December. The highest net equity investment inflows were seen in Others (Rs 10254 crore) followed by Oil & Gas (Rs 2946 crore) and Software & Services (Rs 2101 crore) stocks. On the other hand, FIIs sold a total of Rs 1244 crore of stocks in Food, Beverages & Tobacco shares. This was followed by Banks (Rs 1046 crore) and Utilities (Rs 891 crore) stocks. The asset under custody of FIIs in equities stood at Rs 3137216 crore as on 31 January 2020 as compared to Rs 3028779 crore on 31 December 2019.
