Net inflow of Rs 344.66 crore on 5 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 344.66 crore from the secondary equity market on Tuesday, 5 July 2016, compared with inflow of Rs 152.97 crore on Monday, 4 July 2016. The net inflow of Rs 344.66 crore into the secondary equity markets on 5 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3241.41 crore and gross sales of Rs 2896.75 crore. On that day, the Sensex lost 111.89 points or 0.41% to settle at 27,166.87, its lowest closing level since 1 July 2016. The stock market was closed yesterday, 6 July 2016, for a public holiday.
The net outflow of Rs 49.36 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 5 July 2016 was a result of nil gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 49.36 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 1467.68 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 5 July 2016). FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets in June. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 19703.66 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 5 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 194.85 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 5 July 2016). There has been a net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in June. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1125.46 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 5 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
