Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 3958.19 crore 19 February 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 3958.19 crore on 19 February 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 11602.41 crore and gross sales of Rs 7644.22 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 3944.80 crore into the secondary equity market on 19 February 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 11589.02 crore and gross sales of Rs 7644.22 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 142.01 points or 0.48% to settle at 29,462.27 on that day, its highest closing level since 29 January 2015.
There was a net inflow of Rs 13.39 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 19 February 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 13.39 crore and nil gross sales.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 19768.80 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 19 February 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 14085.60 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 19 February 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
