GIC Housing Finance drops after muted growth in Q3 earnings

GIC Housing Finance lost 2.93% to Rs 100.90 at 10:19 IST on BSE after net profit rose 1.9% to Rs 23.64 crore on 13.6% growth in total income to Rs 158.49 crore in Q3 December 2013 over Q3 December 2012.

The Q3 result was announced after market hours on Tuesday, 28 January 2014.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 86.44 points or 0.42% at 20,769.95.

On BSE, so far shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 51,207 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 104 and a low of Rs 100.05 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 78.55 on 28 August 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 142.45 on 28 January 2013.

 

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 28 January 2014, declining 0.91% compared with the Sensex's 2.41% fall. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 4.58% as against Sensex's 0.55% rise.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 53.85 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

GIC Housing Finance's other expenses surged 42% to Rs 13.52 crore in Q3 December 2013 over Q3 December 2012. Other expenses for the quarter include provision for contingencies amounting to Rs 5.67 crore (Rs 2.11 crore in Q3 December 2012).

GIC Housing Finance provides housing loans to both individuals and corporations.
