Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 277.24 points, or 0.80% to 34,869.63.Hathway Cable & Datacom surged 16.19% at Rs 47. The stock topped the gainers in 'A' group. On the BSE, 83.70 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 6.68 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Mahindra Lifespace Developers spurted 9.09% at Rs 535.50. The stock was the second biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 80,000 shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 7,943 shares in the past two weeks.
Den Networks jumped 7.77% at Rs 143.60. The stock was the third biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 8.93 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 1.68 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Polaris Consulting & Services climbed 7.02% at Rs 417.50. The stock was the fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 88,000 shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 17,000 shares in the past two weeks.
Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) rose 6.31% at Rs 1,872.45. The stock was the fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 5.77 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 2.24 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
