Fuel product consumption rises 6% in April-July 2015
India's fuel product consumption or sales increased 5.5% to 14.029 mt in July 2015 over a year ago. Petrol sales jumped 12.9% to 1.67 mt, while LPG sales galloped 10.4% to 1.58 mt. Sales of petcoke advanced 7.1% to 1.23 mt and naphtha improved 15.3% to 1.14 mt. Consumption of fuel oil moved up 25.4% to 0.55 mt, while that of bitumen gained 15.4% to 0.28 mt. The consumption of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) rose 2.4% to 0.47 mt, lubricants 4.7% to 0.24 mt, and other products 6.8% to 0.55 mt. However, the consumption of diesel declined 0.5% to 5.71 mt, while that of kerosene also fell 2.5% to 0.58 mt in July 2015.Consumption or sales of fuel product increased 6% to 58.73 mt in April-July 2015 over April-July 2014. Sales of petrol increased 12.5%, diesel 2.6%, pet coke 19.2%, and LPG 8.8%. Consumption of naphtha also moved up 10.4%, lubricants 11.7%, ATF 3.2%, fuel oil 6.4% and other products 1.7%, but declined for bitumen 3.5% and kerosene 3.1%.
