Nifty December 2016 futures at small premium

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment declines

The Nifty December 2016 futures traded at 8,164, a small premium of 20.85 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,143.15 in the cash market. The January 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,198.40, a premium of 55.25 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 1.93 lakh crore from Rs 2.06 lakh crore registered on Monday, 5 December 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 14.40 points or 0.18% to settle at 8,143.15, its highest closing level since 1 December 2016.

 

Sun TV Network, Vedanta, State Bank of India (SBI), Yes Bank and Tata Steel were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Sun TV Network December 2016 futures traded at 477.65, at a premium over spot closing of 475.50. Vedanta December 2016 futures traded at 229.20, at a discount over spot closing of 229.40. SBI December 2016 futures traded at 260.95, at a premium over spot closing of 259.70.

Yes Bank December 2016 futures traded at 1,193.50, at a premium over spot closing of 1,191. Tata Steel December 2016 futures traded at 420.35, at a premium over spot closing of 418.10.

The December 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 December 2016.
