ONGC gains after strong Q1 outcome

ONGC rose 1.2% to Rs 168 at 09:45 IST on BSE after net profit surged 58.15% to Rs 6143.88 crore on 39.47% rise in total income to Rs 27862.71 crore in Q1 June 2018 over Q1 June 2017.
The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 2 August 2018.Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 251.67 points, or 0.68% to 37,416.83
On the BSE, 3.53 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 3.63 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 171 and a low of Rs 167.35 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 212.90 on 25 January 2018. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 152.45 on 28 June 2018.
ONGC's net realisation stood at $67.97 a barrel in Q1 June 2018, compared to $45.92 a barrel in Q1 June 2017.
ONGC is engaged in oil and gas exploration. The Government of India held 67.45% stake in ONGC as per the shareholding pattern as on 30 June 2018.
