Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index rises 1.03%

Nifty Auto index closed up 1.03% at 8165.5 today. The index is up 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Eicher Motors Ltd added 3.18%, Tata Motors Ltd rose 2.49% and TVS Motor Company Ltd gained 2.45%. The Nifty Auto index is down 14.00% over last one year compared to the 11.78% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index added 0.98% and Nifty IT index increased 0.65% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.31% to close at 12259.7 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.28% to close at 41673.92 today.
