Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index rises 1.46%

Nifty Auto index closed up 1.46% at 8325.4 today. The index is up 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Motors Ltd gained 4.29%, TVS Motor Company Ltd rose 2.97% and Ashok Leyland Ltd jumped 2.63%. The Nifty Auto index is down 10.00% over last one year compared to the 12.85% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index added 1.31% and Nifty PSU Bank index has dropped 1.22% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.08% to close at 12255.85 while the SENSEX is down 0.04% to close at 41558 today.
