Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index declines 0.69%

Nifty Energy index ended down 0.69% at 15861.3 today. The index is down 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd slipped 3.08%, Reliance Industries Ltd dropped 1.59% and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd shed 1.32%. The Nifty Energy index is up 13.00% over last one year compared to the 14.55% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index added 0.62% and Nifty IT index is down 0.55% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.39% to close at 12214.55 while the SENSEX is down 0.44% to close at 41461.26 today.
