Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index gains 1.74%

Nifty Energy index ended up 1.74% at 15483.8 today. The index has gained 15.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd rose 2.95%, Reliance Industries Ltd jumped 2.83% and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd shed 2.04%. The Nifty Energy index has soared 19.00% over last one year compared to the 14.75% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index gained 0.89% and Nifty Pharma index has dropped 0.68% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.53% to close at 11450 while the SENSEX increased 0.59% to close at 37887.56 today.
